If you’ve been playing Kingshot for more than a few hours, you’ve probably started collecting gear pieces—but figuring out what to equip, what to enhance, and what to save isn’t always obvious. And yet, gear is one of the biggest power multipliers in the game.
Whether you're trying to push through Suppression stages, crush in Arena, or just make your top heroes more effective, mastering the gear system will give you a serious edge.
But upgrading blindly? That can cost you scrolls, resources, and even mythic-level potential if you're not careful…
In this guide, we’ll break down exactly how gear works in Kingshot—from stat types and equipment slots to enhancement tips, mastery forging, and smart reforging.
If you want to make your heroes stronger without wasting rare gear or materials, you’re in the right place.
Let’s start by understanding why gear matters more than most players realize.
It’s easy to underestimate gear in the early stages of Kingshot. You unlock a few pieces, throw them on your heroes, and move on. But once you hit tougher Suppression stages, PvP skirmishes, or higher-level content, you’ll start to feel it—undergeared heroes fall off fast.
Gear is one of the biggest power multipliers in the game. It boosts not just your hero’s stats, but also your escort troops and even full troop formations depending on the gear type.
And this isn’t just about raw attack numbers. Different gear slots give different bonuses—for example:
If you’re focusing only on hero power but ignoring these gear stats, you’re missing out on crucial boosts in every game mode.

Before you can even equip or enhance gear, there are a few requirements you’ll need to meet:
Understanding these hero gear requirements early helps you avoid wasting resources or wondering why certain buttons are grayed out.
As you progress, you’ll want to pay close attention not just to gear stats, but also to what type of content that gear benefits: Suppression, Arena, Escort-based missions, or open-world troop battles all use slightly different stat boosts.

Once you've equipped a solid set of gear, the next step is making it stronger—and that's where enhancing comes in.
This is one of the best ways to boost your hero’s stats early on without having to hunt down rare upgrades. But like everything in Kingshot, there’s a right way and a wrong way to do it.
To enhance gear, tap on the piece you want to level up and hit the Enhance button. From there, you’ve got two main options:
The game even gives you a handy "Quick Select" option that picks enough fodder to gain one level. That’s useful—but don’t just auto-consume everything. Why? Because…
Here’s where a lot of players mess up: they start dumping purple gear into their upgrades just to push a few levels higher. Don’t do it…
Purple gear—and especially mythic—can be hard to come by. Even if it’s sitting in your inventory, unused, that stuff is better saved for reforging, other builds, or future heroes.
Stick to using blue gear or enhancement scrolls whenever possible. They’re more common, and way safer to sacrifice. Focus your upgrades on the gear your main squad is using, especially if you’ve got a solid Suppression team you’re trying to push.
And if you’re on the fence about whether a piece is worth leveling? Just hold off. There’s no point blowing scrolls on gear you’ll replace in a few hours. Kingshot throws a lot of gear at you early—but the rare stuff? You’ll want to keep that around.

Now this is where things start to get juicy—Mastery Forging.
If you’ve got mythic gear lying around (the orange stuff), don’t just treat it like a beefed-up version of purple gear. It’s in a whole different league, and once you unlock mastery forging, you can seriously boost the stats on these pieces beyond normal enhancement levels.
The catch? You can’t even start forging until your gear hits level 20. So if you're trying to forge too early and the option is greyed out, that’s why.
Once it's leveled up, you’ll see the Forge option appear—and that’s when you can start using Forge Hammers to add stars to the gear.
Each star basically gives that piece a bonus stat bump, and it stacks as you forge further. You’ll see it marked as +1, +2, etc., right on the gear itself.
It’s not cheap, though. Forge Hammers are limited, and once you get deep into forging, the cost ramps up. So you’ll want to save this for gear you know you’re keeping long-term—not for random stuff you might swap out tomorrow.
So, to sum up: if you’ve got a solid mythic chest or boots on a main hero, and you’ve brought it to level 20, that’s the time to start forging. Just make sure you’re not dumping hammers into gear you’ll reforge or replace later—it stings.
At some point, you're going to level up a gear piece… and then realize you either don’t need it, or you found something better. That’s where Reforging comes in—and trust me, it can save you a ton of wasted resources if you do it right.
Before anything else: you can’t reforge gear that’s equipped. So the first step is to unequip the item and make sure it’s sitting in your bag.
Once it’s there, tap into your backpack, go to the gear tab, and find the piece you want to reset.
Reforging does two really helpful things:
But there’s a catch—you only get back half of the hammers you used during mastery forging. So yeah, reforging is super useful, but it’s not a free refund so plan ahead.
A lot of players make the mistake of feeding a +10 or +12 gear item into something else without reforging it first. That’s basically throwing away scrolls (and maybe even forge hammers) you could’ve reused. Always reforge before recycling anything enhanced.
Reforging is especially clutch if you’ve over-invested in a purple item and want to shift your resources to a mythic piece instead. It gives you a second chance—and in Kingshot, that’s rare.
The gear system in Kingshot might feel simple at first, but once you start enhancing, forging, and reforging, it opens up a whole new layer of strategy.
And if you're not paying attention, it’s way too easy to waste scrolls, lose rare gear, or throw forge hammers into the wrong item.
So gear smart. Focus on your main heroes, don’t rush upgrades, and always reforge before sacrificing anything enhanced.
